My father, soon to be 90 years of age, bears exactly the same name. One would suppose this to be a startling and unusual coincidence. We are intrigued to know if my father (dob. 10/09/1925) was actually named after the deceased soldier on the memorial, and whether this is because he has relatives in the Middleton area. I am also intrigued by the hyphenated surname Cross-Bardell. Searching online I see a Frederick William Cross-Bardell in the Derby area. Interested to know if there is a particular reason for the combination of Cross and Bardell as names together.
